-COLUMBUS VENDING CO. HISTORY-

THE HOME of "COLUMBUS" VENDORS


-November 6, 1907 - Robert D. Simpson applied for patent application serial #: 400,994. The machine described in this patent application is assumed to be the forerunner to all Columbus machines.

-The above patent was financed by W.T. Wells, who was named as assignor in the patent application. W.T. Wells was a personal friend of Robert D. Simpson and at the time was associated with the Columbus Pharmacal Company.

-March 12, 1908 - The Simpson Manufacturing Co. was organized as a corporation by Robert D. Simpson, H.M. Grimes, W.T. Wells, B.D. Simpson and E.H. Olimb under the laws of Ohio.

-May 23, 1908 - Robert D. Simpson transferred his entire right, title, and interest in application serial #: 400,994 to W.T Wells.

-June 6, 1908 - The Columbus Manufacturing Co. was formed (shown on a Certificate of Subscription filed in the Secretary of States Office)

-W.T. Wells did not want to be actively associated with the companies he organized because of his connection with the Columbus Pharmacal Co. so the Columbus Manufacturing Co. was organized as a selling company for the products of the Simpson Manufacturing Co.

-W.T. Wells also organized the Ohio Vending Co.

-September 15, 1908 - Patent application serial #: 400,994 was granted under patent #: 898,995.

-1909 - L.V. Kuhn was employed by W.T. Wells for the purpose of development work and management

-January 22, 1910 - W.T. Wells, L.V. Kuhn, Fisk, and Mitchell purchased three-quarter interest in the Simpson Manufacturing Co. for $3750.

-December 14, 1910 - The Columbus Vending Machine and Novelty Co. was formed.

-December 31, 1910 - The Columbus Vending Machine and Novelty Co. purchased the assets of the Simpson Manufacturing Co.

-L.V. Kuhn was general manager of the Columbus Vending Machine and Novelty Co. and Ohio Vending Machine Co.

-1911 - W.T. Wells dies and wife Alice L. Wells inherited all of the patent rights to the Columbus Vending Machine and Novelty Co.

-March 6, 1912 - Alice L. Wells assigned her patent rights to L.V. Kuhn. The rest of the stock holder sold to the Vogel family

-The Columbus Vending Co. purchased all of the assets of the Columbus Vending Machine and Novelty Co. and the Simpson Manufacturing Co.

-1914 - The Columbus Vending Co. was purchased by the Vogel Family

-1914 - 1960 Vogel Family runs company

-1960 - Vogel family sells assets of company

-2007 - We purchased all assets of the Columbus Vending Co.
